A day is actually 23.262222 hours long. We round to 24. It takes 365 days 5 hours 48 minutes and 56 seconds for the earth to orbit the sun

if that was true then we would have daylight at the wrong time eventually....but it takes 365 and 1/4 days to go around the Sun. it's orbit not hours.

If that were true, the time would never consistently match up. 2 years in, noon would be as dark as midnight. Leap year is because the year is 365 1/4 days.

so that is not what I was taught in school. I was taught that actually takes 365.25 days for the earth to circle the sun.
