At this period Rockwell rarely painted a weak cover, but this is one of those few. The figure of the man is awkwardly posed– in fact, by Rockwell's own standards it seems positively clumsy– and there is something cursory and hurried about the whole composition. It looks like a sketch for a cover. not a finished work.
