I had the same problem so I just used brake cleaner and a paint scraper it did the trick

use sticker removal spray. can't recommend a brand but use something that's recommended for cars. i've seen my tint guy do it. works like a charm

i do work as a tinter and when I remove old tint I use a steam gun and it works pretty well but it all depends on how damaged the old tint is
