Pekushta :
I love hard sci-fi but I strongly disliked The Martian. Is this one fairly similar?

have to disagree. the way the author writes the characters is so cliched. I was rolling my eyes every 2 pages. the second half has some nice concept

The audio book is SO MUCH better than reading the book. And that’s the only book I will say that about

I really enjoyed this one after the 200 page mark but Andy Weir cannot write character dialogue to save his life.

I physically couldn't read anymore because of the relentless wry tone.

I think the book is much better if it's your first Weir novel. otherwise it's clear he has a character type he likes writing

Hail Mary is fantastic but the dialogue is terrible…thankfully there’s not a lot of it

This is completely unexpected from you - read it in January and found the prose, characters, and plot to be fairly juvenile and predictable.

I like how it adds real science and then fake science I’m listening to the book and my brain is kinda turning off from the science stuff because I don’t understand what they are talking about

PHM is straight up just such a FUN read, and it has such a satisfying ending. Probably gonna reread before the movie comes out.
