in my 23 years I've never had issues with my spigot freezing or having to insulate it... there's a reason why the barrel is a lot longer on spigots in freezing areas

You don't have to have that special fitting they make anti-freeze Spickets that connect like the ones you're replacing. You don't have to have some special connector to use those

I installed and removed it the same day. On brick, the hole must be pitched perfectly. On wood, you could probably get away with it.
