Dividends in an IRA are great (no taxes) but dividends in your investment account not so much as they are taxed as regular income (USA).

Point 1 doesn’t make sense to me. If the share price drops by the amount of the dividend paid out, reinvesting it doesn’t give you any extra compounding benefits. Your just putting back in what the -
