laid hundreds of porcelain patios, never used anything as high tech as that. Good on uoi but seems OTT

Ditra drain should be used for external tiling. Uncoupling stops lateral stress and cracks in the base passing to the tile

I use 6 mm trowel wet ish mix trowel out like u did and then roll it so basically the same your adhesive was a bit wet I’d say .
