I refused to bend my arm when I had one in. I slept with it at an angle & as straight as a ruler. Now as a student nurse, I really laugh at myself 😭

I learnt that nurses really need to inform patients of these facts. They know that patients think the needle stay inside them and that is scared to bend arm yet they choose not to say anything.

Me, after learning there's only plastic tube left few years ago : become too comfort to move my hand/arm, and they dislodged more frequently 😂

some movement can actually make the catheter rapture the vein if it's a small vein or placed in certain spots
