![When did summer arrive? In the Ciucaș Mountains, the answer seems written across pink meadows spilling over the ridgelines like a painter lost in a fever dream. At the start of summer, these slopes trade their harsh mountain austerity for a softer spectacle, where wildflowers sway beneath vast skies and every bend in the trail opens another astonishing panorama. It is the kind of landscape that reminds you why people cross continents for a view. The Ciucaș range, part of the Eastern Carpathians, is renowned for its unusual sandstone formations, rolling alpine pastures, and remarkable biodiversity. Early summer brings one of its most photogenic moments, when broad swathes of pink blooms transform the high meadows into living tapestries. The air carries the scent of grass warmed by the sun, shepherd paths thread through the hills, and distant peaks appear and disappear beneath drifting clouds. There is something peculiar about a mountain in bloom. It makes time feel slower, as if the season itself has paused for a brief act of generosity. Standing above those pink fields, with valleys unfolding in every direction, you begin to wonder how many beautiful places remain unseen simply because we never take the first step toward them.
