@drjoedamiani: Are you always wondering if you should be using ice versus heat for your inflamed TMJ or jaw pain? Well, the answer really depends on what you’re experiencing. If it is a lot of myofascial and muscle pain, you’ll probably benefit more from heat, the same with a tight capsule and joint stiffness. However, in the case of synovitis, which is a form of inflammation of the synovial membrane, ice would definitely be the way to go… But how do you know if you have synovitis that’s the whole question and in this video I show two strategies to understand if you actually have synovitis. In the next video, you’ll see additional ways to address synovitis so you can really piece this together.
