If you’re a service provider who has been curious about the NDIS but has been turned off it by industry professionals who tell you there’s no money to be made in it: this video is for you Disclaimer: I’m a cleaning business owner talking about this from my knowledge base. Please send this information to your accountant to check, and read the lengthy NDIS documents carefully before taking this on board. NDIS helps provide support to Australian people who are our most vulnerable. Being an NDIS provider is a rewarding job, if meaningful work is a priority to you. But what can you do about those maximum hourly rates that the government set? For cleaning; this is currently $51.81. Industry professionals say things like “by the time you take out GST, and travel time, you’re operating at a loss” and straight up: they’re misinforming you, because they don’t know better. They haven’t researched this in full before providing you with incorrect advice. NDIS is GST free when you meet some criteria that I have found very easy to do. This puts the rate at more like $56.90ish if you consider that gst is was not applicable. This is still low, but there’s one more thing. In metro areas, up to 30 minutes of travel time can be charged to the NDIS participant with their agreement. It’s 60 minutes in regional areas. If you do a 2 hour NDIS clean at $51.81 + a 30 minute travel fee, this becomes $64.76 per hour for the 2 hours you spend cleaning - and that’s (gst free). If you were to compare that to other clients you charge GST - it’s actually over $71. #cleaningbusiness #cleaningbusinessowner #ndis #ndisserviceprovider
