Breaking News! The Leaders And People Of Ajah Town In Lagos Are Currently Protesting At The Lagos State Assembly, Ikeja Against The Attempt To Superimpose The Olumegbon Family As The Oba Of Ajah IMPOSITION OF OLUMEGBON FAMILY: AN ATTEMPT TO PROMOTE ANARCHY AND CHAOS IN AJAH COMMUNITY The Ajah community is a peaceful community in Lagos State. The peaceful co-existence among the various families and people that make up the community has made it possible to pursue progress and development in the community, leaving Ajah as one of the fastest developing areas in Lagos State. The traditional leadership of Ajah, the Baale of Ajah, which is produced by the Ojupon and Ogunsemo Family, has been and remains the only recognised traditional leadership institution in Ajah since the Chieftaincy Declaration. For over three hundred (300) years, Ajah has been under the traditional leadership of the Baale of Ajah, and the Olumegbon family is not entitled to this stool. An attempt by some individuals to impose an Oba on the good people of Ajah continues to threaten the peaceful co-existence of the Ajah community. Although the Olumegbon family is not indigenous to Ajah and the idiosyncrasies of the family are not in tandem with the existing culture and tradition of the good people of Ajah, some powerful people have made attempts to impose powerful overlords of the Olumegbon family as the Oba of Ajah. The indigenous families of Ajah have instituted an action on this issue, with the matter pending in Suit No: LD/6432GCMW/2019 before Hon. Justice Aigbokhaevbo (Mrs). There is, in fact, an order of interlocutory injunction made against the Olumegbon family and the Lagos State government to maintain status quo pending the final determination of the suit. Interestingly, the matter last came up before the court on the 26th day of November 2024. Surprisingly, despite the pendency of the suit and the order of interlocutory injunction of the court, the members of the Olumegbon family and some officials of the Lagos State government (who are working behind closed doors), have refused to maintain status quo. #IslandersMagazine #IslandersTV #islandersevents_parties_
