I don't know how it is now in Michigan but when I needed fingerprints for a background check I just had to go to any police department. it cost like $10.

Wild, in canada you can get background checks online buy giving you name, DOB and other info and they run it through the RCMP database for a hit

there is an actual background check office here. you just make an appointment, pay $80, and they take care of everything.
