what I've read 1 beta should have atleast 4gallons of water for ultimate success rather inna bowl or tank... absolutely NO SMALL CUPS FOR LIVING

Bettas need 78-82 degrees… not low to mid 70s. And a filter that causes a lot of water flow would yes, cause stress. But there are so many low flow filters you can use for them lol.

Low to mid 70’s is still to cold for a tropical fish. And I filter in a aquarium with low flow is still essential as it’s not like the giant but shallow natural home it comes from

You can also try baffling the filter or adding plants or decorations to help diffuse the flow and create more sheltered areas for your betta.

just because you were breeding for years doesn't mean you were using up to date care when it comes to these fish, Bettas do indeed need a filter, 5 to 10 gallons of space and live plants preferably
