@discoverjacksonnc: One of the highest waterfalls east of the Rockies, Whitewater Falls towers an amazing 411 feet! 🌊 It is a sight for the senses, as its roaring water makes its way down the steep slopes. ⛰️ In just a few weeks, fresh green leaves and wildflowers will hug this spectacular cascade. The best views of the falls are from the two overlooks. Travel Tips: ✅ Bring $3 for parking. ✅ For an excellent view, follow the paved walkway from the parking lot to the upper overlook. The walkway is accessible to wheelchairs. ✅ For a different view, consider the lower overlook, located at the bottom of 154 wooden steps. ✅ Whitewater Falls experiences high visitor volume during mid-day, so plan to visit in the morning or evening hours. Waterfall Safety: Heed posted warning signs indicating danger and stay on established trails. Never climb on rocks or around waterfalls, and never play in the water above a waterfall. Rocks can be slippery, and it’s easy to lose your balance, especially with bare feet.
