@anna..papalia: When you’re asked in a job interview, why do you want to work here… don’t panic!   Most people get this answer wrong because they focus on the wrong things. They tell the company all the things the company can do for them. “I went on your website and I resonate with your mission.” Or “I am looking for a new challenge” But the worst thing people say is, “I want to work here for the benefits”   DO NOT TELL THEM you want to work there for a new challenge or their benefits.   INSTEAD tell them how you can be a value add to their organization. How you can help them achieve their goals. “I want to work here because I know one of your 3rd quarter goals is to break into the retail market specifically in the area of e-commerce and as we’ve discussed I have done that in my last two positions, I know I can help you achieve your goals and get where you want to go”   Your answer should NOT be what the company can do for you- it’s what you can do for the company. Convince them that you are not only qualified for this job but you will help them achieve their goals.
