I watched the trick and it looks really impressive. I watched it a couple of times again and worked out how it was done. The solution is much simpler than pre arranging a specific card.

You looked at the bottom of blue deck before shuffling, made sure that ended up at top of deck. Now you just force the picked card on top of that card
