Clomipramine (Anafranil): Clomipramine is a tricyclic antidepressant (TCA) primarily used to treat obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and major depressive disorder (MDD). It works by increasing the levels of serotonin and nordernaline. It is associated woth more side effects than any of the other commonly prescribed antidepressant. 2. Desvenlafaxine (Pristiq): Desvenlafaxine is a serotonin-noradrenaline reuptake inhibitor (SNRI) used to treat MDD. It works by increasing the levels of serotonin and noradrenaline in the brain. Desvenlafaxine is also sometimes used to treat anxiety disorders. Its less effective than the closely related medicaiton, venlafaxine (Effexor) and probably has more side effects. 3. Reboxetine (Edronax): Reboxetine is a selective noradrenaline reuptake inhibitor (NRI) used to treat MDD. It works by increasing the levels of noradrenaline in the brain. Reboxetine is less commonly prescribed compared to other antidepressants due to its high side effect profile and relatively poor efficacy.
