I think a lot of it also comes down to mental health. Physical health can be a factor too.

For me dental stuff wasn’t a priority growing up, was taken to dentist once every 3-4 years😅, my parents didn’t pressure me to brush so now it’s so hard to get that habit as an adult.

My best friend was never taught how to take care of hers, so she didn’t brush daily until college

Mental health is definitely a huge factor, which, sadly a lot of dental professionals don’t seem to take into consideration, or just don’t care :/

My bosses kids have so many teeth pulled at 7-10 & so many cavities she lets them drink pop all the time at work 🤦🏼♀️

I work with in pedo and make sure to tell my kiddos that they have to take care of their grown up teeth because they’ll have them forever😅

I didn't take care of them because my smile was ugly so I didn't see the point at 9 😭 10 yrs later I see now
