I have been riding for about 5-6 years but I Can never remember one thing that is which Way do I go if I Want to shorten and lengthen do I go up if I wanna shorten or down if I want longer stirrups

My mum makes me do it one handed with my foot still in the stirrup b cm apparently that is the proper way 😭

if we want to talk about safety, never let go of the reins and always have your foot in the stirrup. and keep an eye on the surroundings.

I was always told to keep the foot in the stirrup I think my instructor said you’d have to do that if u got assessed or something like that

For pony club and bhs tests you have to do it with your foot still in stirrup and without letting go of the reins as its safer if the horse moves off.

I agree this is what most of us do but fun fact, u wldn’t pass a BHS exam that way. U have to keep ur foot in the stirrup. Just incase anyone doing them 🥰
