as an Australian, our version of a council house is a housing commission house. why do you have to be the one to fix it? HC makes sure the house is liveable and up to scratch. I don't understand why

I think the little cupboard at the bottom could serve as a toddler level wardrobe for now, and swap it out by putting shelves in the bottom part

Personally I would use that cupboard for all your baby’s old clothes, the stuff you want to keep but can’t throw! Then put the wardrobe against it ☺️
