Okay so this is barely an edit but that's the best I can do for now. Today's not a good day. Today we lost one of the most marvelous, great and genuine soul art and cinema ever encountered. Today we lost David Lynch. Today I lost David Lynch. And it hurts. It hurts a lot more than I thought it would. But ever since we got the news the hole in my chest doesn't seems to wanna close. As I'm writing these words my eyes are still filled with nothing but tears. My gosh how it hurts I can't even explain it. I feel sick.
David's work and especially Twin Peaks helped me get through last year. I found him and his work at a time where I much needed it. Dale Cooper taught me love and compassion. Laura Palmer taught me strength and grief. I found comfort and courage in all the characters he brought us. I found hope in his nightmares. And I experienced all possible emotions watching everything he made. Nothing make me feel more alive than watching a Lynch film. Always wondering what's happening, what will happens and what to do with all that. Cinema is meant to make you feel things and Lynch surely knew that. He was food for the brain, the heart and the soul.
He was one of a kind. There will never be another like him. His impact on art is undeniable and his legacy will live on forever. I will carry it for as much as I live.
Thank you David for showing us your talent. Thank you for your movies. Thank you for your words. Thank you for everything you brought to cinema. Thank you for inspiring so many of us. Thank you for helping so many of us without even knowing it. Thank you for making us feel seen in our weirdest and most confusing feelings. I wish it was all just a dream. Death is not the end. Be careful on your journey. I hope love will be enough. Say hi to Laura for us. Look out for each other. You'll be dearly missed. You are already. Bye old man. 🖤 #davidlynch #edit #fyp
