I've had a few ops and it's not as bad as your imagining. you lay on a bed, the team there are really nice. A cannulor is inserted and you count backwards, bet you don't get to 4. you will be fine x

I’m a trainee anaesthetic assistant. It’s normally a really chill experience. The actual drug going in stings a bit but that’s it otherwise people say it’s the best sleep you’ll ever have

i had 2 ops in 3 mths, you go out so quickly and next minute your awake, very out of it but doesn't take long to come right and you'll be thirsty.

I’ve had 4 GAs. Was nervous for first 2. Second two I was bantering with the surgeons before. All 4 times I woke up perky like I hadn’t had surgery at all. If affects everyone differently

I was nervous before acl reconstruction, my consultant had the anaesthetist talk to me before my surgery as well, and the nurse and people who took me down, were just chatting to me to make me laugh,
