I totally agree with not overreacting. Although instead of saying "it's okay", I acknowledge that it hurt. But that this is not the worst thing ever.

I tend to hold my reaction and let the kid react first. If they look up and see me not reacting, they think about how they feel first, not just going off how I feel

Unless my daughter is really crying and obviously hurt I wait for her to come to me. She just wants a quick reassurance cuddle and then back to playing. It’s really changed her reactions to minor bump

as a daycare worker, YES! they learn how to react based on how they see you react. if you freak out so will they. you can show concern without being panicked :)

Before I had my son I used gasp a lot 🤦 Now I don't but My mom always gasped when my son fell and he instanly cried. Now he just brushes it off and continues with his day 😅 So it really matters 🤍
