Even if washing chicken DIDN’T splash germs all over your kitchen, what is rinsing it under cold water going to accomplish that cooking it won’t??

It’s not washing, it’s rinsing and it’s usually if there is skin on the meat, to prep it for being in a brine before cooking.

Yep, the water doesn’t get hot enough to kill bacteria anyways in a lot of cases so you would need to deep clean the sink

I had a friend that washed the chicken and it puzzled me. I never saw a lot of deep cleaning afterwards. He’d feill the sink with water and throw it in.
