if the controllers were to be based in sydney or far away fair enough but only 20-25mins away.. whats the point theyre pretty much no difference just have the cameras and people in same tower

It’s not so far fetched. Ballina/Byron gateway (YBNA) aerodrome has regular jet traffic and doesn’t have a tower. A controller in Brisbane controls the sequencing for aircraft operating in the zone
