I always wash EVERYTHING in hot to kill germs so I already just went and washed my brand new 80% down/20% wool $450 duvet in gentle hot water cycle. Did I completely destroy it? How do we disinfect it if we can only wash it in cold or warm?!?!

Are you supposed to clean the comforter before using, when its just bought new? Mine came in a zip up cloth bag. And is it possible to get rid of the down smell? Or do I wait till I go nose blind?😂

On the subject of duvets…which shell material would be quieter on a down comforter? Batiste cotton or Cotton Sateen?? I hate the crinkle sounds.

Is there a trick to washing a super king down duvet in a domestic size front loader? Do I just stuff it in the machine or roll it like I’ve seen others do? Also what’s good for spot stains on it? Thank you 🥰

I have a portable electric dryer that doesn’t heat, it is just air so it will be perfect but I don’t think I can fit it inside.

Wool dryer balls help a lot in the drying process.

We put tennis balls in the dryer when drying duvets/coats to keep the down from clumping together :)
