Similar thing happened to meee when I was going to makkah I was in madinah and I lost my passport on the bus and we were leaving in two days and the bus was all the way in Jeddah it was scary 😭

Same thing happened to me in bali, only we checked out of our hotel and hopped onto a boat to the next island. Got to the island and realised we left our passports at the previous island hotel.
