@tobatech: #stitch with @Norm G I completely agree with you. Passing on the cost to the customer is not the right way to handle that situation. It's not on the customer to pay for the tooling to work on their vehicle. #tools #customers #mechanicsoftiktok #carsoftiktok #tobatech #customtools
I built a bearing tool. Havent needed it in 5 years. And i charged some time for building it. Customer would have had to tow truck to wpg to get it replaced. He was still money ahead.

Tools are built into door rate...shop supplies should also be in there.

As far as tools for a job. I buy them not the customers responsibility. As far as learning about a new problem on a vehicle yeah it happens. But it would come to a fair rate for me and the customer.

As a customer if I have to pay extra for you to buy the specialty tool then I expect to take that tool with me that I paid for when I leave.
That’s an old Scanner Danner video. His stance is no longer the same and nor should it be

I've been doing this as a tech for 22 years and I'm telling you, you're wrong.
I'm not going to spend hours of my day, everyday, building tools and allowing customers to receive that free. NO.

I 100% agree with @Norm G video, but I have a bit to say on this one. I’m going to my sons play at school, but will try to make a video later tonight.
