I've fed a thousand dogs over the years with raw bones sometimes daily and sometimes almost all bones and I know many other people who have done the same and I'm not aware of a single case of perforation or blockage. Broken teeth sure. I'm a firm believer this is to do with carbs in the dogs diet. A lot of carbs (kibble) will result into stomach acid pH getting higher and the dog can't digest the bones anymore as they are supposed to. And also breed/dog type probably has an effect as well.

we had our boxer die because of a punctured stomach due to a chicken bone. never fed my dogs chicken or pork bones again. i only buy them the joint

I have always feed bones never had an issue and alway raw. it is natural for a dog to eat bones. never had any gut, chocking or teeth issues.
