@debtfreegonnabe: The Income-Driven Repayment (IDR) income recertification pause has been extended to late September 2024 so you will not need to provide income documentation until at least then. Previously, the Department of Education (DoE) had said that borrowers wouldn’t need to recertify before March 1 but loan servicers started asking folks to recertify in January and February! So DoE extended the pause as part of their “continued support for borrowers as they return to repaying student loans.” Here’s how it’ll work: 👉🏾 If you haven’t recertified yet - you’ll receive a payment pause that will likely show up as administrative forbearance 👉🏾 If you payment went up due to an early recertification - you’ll be returned to your previous monthly payment 👉🏾 If you recertified, and your payment went down or stayed the same - no changes will be made to your monthly payment A notice will go out 3 months before your IDR income recertification is due. If you’re not sure when IDR recertification is due, contact your loan servicer. Or log into your account at studentaid.gov, view your details under My Aid, View Breakdown, View Loans, click on View Loan Details and look for your IDR Anniversary Date under Repayment Details. #studentloans #studentloanforgiveness #studentloanhelp #cancelstudentloandebt #moneytok #financetok #moneycoach #debthelp
