The storyline is simple, the Jellicle Cats gather for the BIG event, the Jellicle Ball, a massive, high-energy dance sequence where the cats introduce themselves and compete, not just for fun, to prove they possess a ‘soul,’ to showcase their identity, their worth, and their unique place within the tribe, hoping to earn the blessing of the elder and leader of their clan, Old Deuteronomy (the diva himself, André De Shields) who will choose one cat to ascend to the Heaviside Layer and be reborn.
