✨THINGS TO DO IN LA: THE GRAMMY MUSEUM✨ This is your sign to be a tourist in your own city 🫶 The Grammy Museum at LA Live in Downtown Los Angeles is a super fun (and relatively affordable) way to spend your day in LA! They have four floors of rotating and permanent exhibits, including tons of interactive activities, making it the perfect spot for a group hang, date, or solo adventure. They recommended starting at the top and working your way down, so the first exhibit I saw highlighted 50 years of hip hop in America. This floor was PACKED with historical tidbits, legendary outfits, and handwritten lyrics; plus you can even try your hand at sampling or DJing at their interactive tables! Next was their Latin Music Gallery which is currently hosting a Shakira exhibit, showcasing the Colombian singer and songwriter’s story and rise to fame. This floor also has a display featuring iconic Grammys red carpet outfits, and it was so cool seeing what some of my favorite artists wore up close! My favorite part of the whole museum was their flagship Mono to Immersive room, where you can hear what Grammys performances would sound like on different music technology starting with the gramophones of the 1800s and going all the way through to the best speakers of today. The last exhibit was their tribute to historic venue The Roxy in honor of its 50th anniversary, including details on the first performances of Rocky Horror and photos of celebs performing or watching shows there. This floor also has a theater playing a compilation of some of the best Grammys performances, which was so fun to watch. Don’t leave without checking out their rooftop cafe for music-themed lattes that were actually really good and gorgeous views of DTLA! The Grammy Museum is open every day except Tuesday, and tickets cost $18 for adults, $15 for seniors and military, and $12 for students and kids (children 4 years and under are free).
