My former principal gave me a hard time when my dad passed away. She sad “I only took 1 day when my dad died” when I get 5 bereavement

My daughters school district allows 2 mental health days on top of sick days during the year. It’s not a lot but it’s something.

In Texas we are given 5 sick days and 5 “personal days” as part of our “ compensation package” but if you take more than three days off, it lowers your score on your teacher evaluation for that year.

Nurses get occurrences too. We get 4 sick days a year where I work. But only if you have accrued enough paid time off to cover the days.
