my dad talked about how wives were shared if you went to visit another community. she had a choice of course but it was a custom in the north. I was told in detail stories lol

in my culture 'poly' relationships were more ment for high status people & low status were in monogamous relationships. & high status women would also have relations with their habdmaids

Polygamy was a thing bc as she said life was hard. A way of sharing chores, sometimes sisters would marry the same husband, simply bc he was a provider. No one was forced to have children together
