If you don't caulk it it'll ruin the window if you do caulk it it'll ruin the siding. That vertical siding is junk anyway

Just started in a neighborhood where they put no metal flashling over every garage door frame leaks and just put j channel everyone of them rotting wall &header and all have bonus room over them too

Membrane your header flashing 3/4 up then when you leave whatever is going on your wall 3/8 up your flashing colour is exposed

I’m sure the siding manufacturer says to do it the way the creator here said to. It’s just that no contractor reads any instructions.
