This would only be ok to me if ALL the players knew that ANY of them could be a secret werewolf from the very beginning. Getting approval first before God-Mode-ing someone’s character is REQUIRED!!

At first, I thought what a wonderful idea. The party should get to choose how to deal with it. You can have a secret werewolf, but let them decide to try and find a cure or get special abilities

I like this idea (even as a secret) as long as the person is an experienced player and they state they are willing to go with the flow of your story and doesn't have their own set-in-stone storyline

I actually love the idea of a campaign where one of the players is a werewolf the whole time, but nobody knows who. But I would absolutely be clear that this was how it was going to pan out beforehand

I played a one shot with friends where the dm had us all start at max level... he didn't intro my character till the end cuz apparently he liked my character design better then the one for the BBG (1)

I had a dm secretly make my character a doppelganger but he did it in a way that didn't change anything about my character and it was for a halloween one shot it didn't really matter in the end anyway

As a dm its so much more fun to ask players if they want to have a hidden role. They LOVE telling stories so they tend to jump at the chance.

I do this as a "Devil's bargain" sometimes, at character creation I go "I can give you a little bonus if you help me with something..."

Honestly it is kind of a neat idea if the DM doesn't have a set choice on who the werewolf is but instead decides based on the player's behavior. Like, of COURSE the werewolf is the murder hobo!
