I always say an excuse is trying to get out of trouble, and explanation is accepting the consequences but offering a reason. since most people ask why you did what you did 🤷

honestly as an autistic person I think someone being autistic only makes it more important to call out their harmful behaviors bc it can be harder for us to intuit when our actions hurt others

Boundaries in this case are If the store is overstimulating, then I might have to leave, put earplugs on, hide in the bathroom. Boundaries are not, someone else (cashier) must fix my problem.

Headphones/Earplugs and shopping services are accomidations, so the guy who suggested doing that is suggesting accommodations.

Now I’m so confused how saying I’m sorry I lashed out because I was overstimulated is an excuse😭 I usually add a “I shouldn’t have spoken to you like that” but I thought it was an explanation???
