@wanderroot_guild: The Florida weave is a common technique used to trellis tomatoes. It involves weaving twine or string between tomato plants in a zigzag pattern along a series of stakes to provide support as the plants grow. This method helps to keep the tomato plants upright, prevents them from sagging or breaking under the weight of the fruit, and promotes better air circulation and sunlight exposure for healthier growth. #garden #plant #tomatos #floridaweave #stepbystep @Iris Worthen @Larrisa 🦋 @Larrisa 🦋
I planted my tomatoes but those tomato cages were $10 a piece, we need 10 that’s $100 so we gotta do this or something today!

Do you do this again and again as the plant gets bigger?

Jordan Schofield :
DO NOT do this if you are aiming for alot of plants. Tried last year on 500 plants, abandoned the Florida after 3 feet high, switched to what commercial greenhouses do. had simple 8' plants.

Wrong string and to long of a run. String will stretch and be slacked cuz of long run. Word to the wise...trail and errors.

I’ve used recycled trellis netting for years, so much faster. This is great if you don’t have access to ag scrap.
