@sachistorymuseum: March 10th is when Daylight Saving Time begins! We hope you remembered to set your clocks forward one hour. Also, the Fire Department recommends that you change the batteries and test your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. For today, since we have to set our clocks forward an hour, Jared letterpress printed a very fitting electrotype (copy of a woodcut) from the Lewis Winter Collection. This cut depicting tempus fugit (time flies) was made in the 1890s by Lewis Winter. The text below reads “Daylight Savings Begins” and was typeset in 24 point Caslon font. This was printed with a mix of rhodamine red and opaque white rubber base ink using our Washington hand press. #SacHistoryMuseum #daylightsavings #daylightsavingstime #typography #sacramento #museum #history #letterpress #printing
