and straight up the moral superiority about thinness bc all of a sudden you can’t moralize thinness as a virtue

I understand people feeling upset at diabetics not accessing it bc of shortages, but you unpack this so well thank you commenting for boost

THIS. and ofc the insistence that people need to EARN it is directly tied to the moral quality we ascribe to weight. a fast/easy way to lose weight undermines the idea that weight has moral value.

We are just bombared with constant evidence that people view weight as a moral issue. It’s so…biblical.

I love you - thank you 🙏🏾 there is no moral high ground in losing weight, or maintaining. It should be a normal function of a healthy body. These meds just level the field 😏

also the people who say "well if you stop taking it, you'll regain the weight" that is true of literally any method of intentional weight loss. just another way for people to exercise their fatphobia

But also, if everyone has access to thinness that removes a whole class of ppl they deem less than.

It’s funny how these folks never want to discuss the long term side effects of obesity… ya know… like diabetes, heart failure, increased cancer risk, etc. 🤔

This!! The twisted excitement just reeks of: “you deserve to be punished for doing something I disapprove of”. SO strange

Also “earning” thinness can also make you sick as well. Constantly restricting your diet has bad side effects too

the actual issue with ozempic is it's going to (and already is) make life so much worse for fat people because it's another thing people can use to say being fat is a choice and use it to vilify them

My only problem is that healthy people are buying it up from folks who need it, simply for vanity. That's so incredibly selfish. Diabetes is no joke.
