@chucklevins: This legendary music shop in D.C. is a must see! Its story starts way back in 1958 when Chuck and his wife Marge Levin opened their first shop at 12th and H Streets in downtown Washington, D.C. It didn’t take long before the store earned a reputation as a must-visit destination for any serious musician passing through the nation’s capital. In April 1968 as riots following the assassination of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. tore through the city’s inner core, the store was burned to the ground. The Levin family isn’t one to call it quits, so within a month they relocated the shop to nearby Wheaton, Maryland where the store is still thriving today! 🎶 The modest mom and pop shop became a DC institution. No musician could pass through DC without a stop at “Chuck’s.” Don’t he surprised if you cross paths with Stevie Wonder if he’s in town, he’s quite the regular! 🔥 The business is still run by Chuck and Marge’s children and grandson who are in the store every day, committed to being a trusted source for musicians across the world 🌎 The shop has had its hand in many developments in the world of music gear, including coming up with the name for the “Telecaster Deluxe” With departments for drums, guitars, synths, band and orchestra, pro audio, as well as repair and rental services - the shop has continued to provide “Everything in Music” for over 65 years! 🎉 #washingtondc #musicstore #guitartok #dcmusic #musicshop #SmallBusiness #drumshop #musicgear
