Tbh I even felt like Dune 2 was a little too upfront with the “Paul is definitely bad” message. Seems like the filmmakers realize folks won’t understand it if they’re as subtle as the book is.

Dune 2 specifically is a master class at showing and not telling. For a book that was thought of as unfilmable, nothing felt lost and we weren't expositioned to death
