My base was $19.42 an hour which was roughly $40k. I also earned commission which totaled around $60k. In my last half year there I had a strong start, so I was projected to be around $80k. I quit in June 2021 to pursue software engineering because sales was soul sucking 2️⃣ After bootcamp, I landed my first SWE role making $78k in 2022, but was laid off 4 months later 3️⃣ In Feb 2023, I landed a role paying $55/hr through a contracting firm. After 10 months of them telling me I was going to be made permanent, they couldn’t find the budget and I was laid off. 4️⃣ Thankfully, I had a friend at a startup, so I landed a job with him making $90k. That was also short lived, and I was laid off 3 months later when they had money issues. 5️⃣ I’m May 2024, with 3 competing offers, I landed my current role making $100k.
