I’m always genuinely surprised that the US uses underarm crutches. They do have positives but do a lot more damage long term. A lot of permanent/long term crutch users use sidestix they are so 1/2

this isn't Europe vs America, this is underarm vs forearm. underarm are common for injury as they can bare more weight and less risk of injury even if used improperly. while forearm are for chronic illnesses/disabilities concerning stuff like leg weakness and fatigue and are built for long-term use. higher risk of injury if used improperly

Closed cuff crutches make a big difference for me. You don't have to grasp the grip so much, they stay on your arms. I swear by Ossenberg! their grip is slightly shorter than Kowsky, fit my hands.
