where I live i have to freeze my rice for a couple days THEN after I made sure there is no moisture i put in an air tight container

You can add a few bay leaves to your rice and it will keep the bugs away, same thing with flour

I've had the same jug for rice storage for 3 years. I suddenly had weevils for the first time and it was bad. I was so horrified that I put the rice in the freezer then threw it out a couple 1/2

I buy 20lb bags of aged basmati and jasmine then just separate it into gallon freezer bags. Keeps perfect for the 3-4 months in between bags.

It’s actually the same with flour. If you store it in the bag for a long time little bugs will actually burrow their way out of the bag and fly around. They are harmless but super annoying and as far as I know you can’t use the flour once the bugs happen.
