As someone who used to detail for a living, I love that you did it yourself and your results are awesome but get yourself some 2k grit sandpaper and work your way up to 3k and then get a wool pad

I used to be a paint prep for a body shop, we used to sand down old hoods like this with 2000 before cut and buffing. It works wonders!!

Tip: get a spray bottle and spray the foam pad every once in awhile to keep it cooled down and is better for the paint!
