Was a Dental Assistant for 7 years and we never did this to our pediatric patients. There was an office near by that did, but I’ve actually never seen it done.

I rather this than having my child sedated. my 6 yr old is terrified of the dentist the previous dentist refused to see him and told me to switch to a hospital bc he should be sedated

My son is autistic and has to be put to sleep for any dental appointments. I couldn’t let him be tied up I know he’d hurt himself trying to fight.

As a former dental assistant we never did this for children in my general dentist, but I know they do it in some places. Also they use sedation for severe cases too

it's for their safety. kid will automatically touch their face or mouth, if the dentist has something sharp they can cut them. its more for their safety not because they are bad kids .

My kids were wrapped before and they are terrified of the dentist now! I ended up switching dentist and the new dentist is amazing, my kids get nervous but do amazing now!

my children's dentist does this when work needs done. for Everyone's safety. I see no wrong. rather wrap them and be there. than to put them under and not know what they're doing to my child

I got wrapped as a kid, as soon as that dentist put his finger in my mouth a bit him with everything I had…. My mom never took me back. I was scared of dentists for years after that😅

None of my 4 children have ever been wrapped. only if they get nervous They give them a mild dose of laughing gas, helps them relax.but if they’re fine, no need for the the gas.

I’ve never seen that, every dentist I’ve taken my 4 kids to they always have me hold my kids if they move. My 2 year old was screaming and fighting so I held him while they cleaned his teeth.

i’ve never seen that before, my 5year old has a hard time and they just don’t really work on him if they can wait it out they do. they do what they can/he lets them and that’s it.

They have this at my kids dentist but my babies have never been wrapped up 🙏 they wrap them up only if they cry or start moving around
