@seanweaverdwc: The whole pressure makes diamonds thing definitely applies to snow geese. Beyond the obvious life-preserving traits such as large flocks and a fast migration, there's lots of factors that make them such a tough bird to successfully hunt. One of those factors is the constant jumping they get through most of their migration. I don't know how these jumpers thought they were going to get close enough to these birds, and I never saw if they had any success. I never saw them in frame of my filming either. Judging by the lack of any follow-up cripple swats, they never got anywhere near success. The following morning, I did hear an absolutely epic jump a few miles away.
