The aircraft shown in the video is a AgustaWestland AW-139 medium lift helicopter. Various types of helicopters are needed in offshore drilling operations for jobs such as crew transport, internal cargo transport, sling load cargo transport, and sky crane construction. Building small offshore cities comes with innumerable engineering challenges that many rotorcraft help to solve. We thought this would be a cool teaching moment and a fun video to watch.
